Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a Session?
Fill out the Contact Form or email: Jaelyn@CapturingBlissPhoto.com with desired date, time, and type of session. You will receive an email response within 48 hours.
How & When do I pay?
You may pay via cash or check. Checks payable to Capturing Bliss Photography. Payment is due no later than the date of the Session or Wedding.
What should I wear?
Everybody is different and for that reason I strongly suggest wearing comfortable clothing. I discourage the white shirts and khaki's since we don't live in the 90's anymore. Coordinating clothing with like colors rather than matching. Don't wear large prints or logos since these will distract from your faces.
How much are Wedding Packages?
Every CBP Bride is unique and deserves to be treated that way. Contact Me and we can set up a time to chat over a coffee at your favorite coffee shop to discuss details about your wedding day.
What if it rains?
If it rains, snows or if you or your children are sick - we can reschedule. Or if it's weather related we can move the session to my studio or your home.
How long have you been a photographer?
I have been a photographer since 2007 and have loved every minute. I love capturing two love birds during their engagement, laughing families as they grow, tiny noses and fingers of newborns and when the groom sees his bride for the first time.
What gear do you use?
I have a Nikon D810 with a 24-70mm and 50mm lens. I also have a Nikon D7100 as a back up along with plenty of batteries in hand. My Nikon SB700 is my flash of choice and I use it with my RapidBox when necessary. In my studio in Lawrenceville I have several soft boxes and backdrops that can be brought on location if necessary.
After the Session:
I bought my prints from a drugstore or online vendor and they look bad, why?
Typically this question means the images are too dark, too bright, too green, too red, fuzzy or pixelated. This is due to ill-trained lab techs, cheap processing techniques, and non-calibrated machines paired with poor inks and papers.
I am passionate about providing the best possible products and services to my clients and this is why I strongly urge them to purchase products and prints directly through my Online Gallery. They are printed from a professional lab - highest quality - and are guaranteed for life.
Can I have certain images in color or in black and white?
If you would like additional images or editing done - I can do so for a minimal fee of $10 per image beyond 2 images. Beyond that, as these types of services are time intensive, skillful and/or require a great deal of knowledge and attention, I do have to charge fees for them. There are never hidden fees, just ones required for me to run my business effectively and be compensated appropriately for my time and talents.
Can you edit in Sepia Tone or Selective Color?
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify with you the style of photography I offer and my approach to editing. It is always my goal to edit with a crisp, clean style and to ensure that 10, 20, or 50 years down the road, we can both look back on the images with a feeling that they are classic and beautiful, and not to wish they hadn't been editing with a fad style. Because of this, I do not typically offer Sepia Tone and Selective Color (black and white with part of the image being in color) style of editing.
You were drawn to my work for a reason, so I am thrilled to know you can rest easy and trust my professional, artistic expertise in the approach of your images.
Can I see (or have) ALL the images from my Session or Wedding?
All delivered images are the full collection of proofs. Any images deleted did not meet our strict guidelines and have been permanently discarded. I feel as a documentary photographer that your wedding story was told beautifully and fully. Our guidelines: technical failures (out of focus, motion blurred, etc), unflattering (subject caught mid-sentence with mouth in weird shape, subject's eyes half lidded, dresses falling down, bits of fat where fat shouldn't be), or duplicates (when we photograph details and formals, we chose the best one or two images from the set and deliver only those, as most people don't care to have seventeen shots of their cake).
Your contract includes the edited selection of images that tell the story of your day, and as stated in the contract, we are the party that determines which images make it to the final cut. Outtakes and discards are not included.
